Installation
Simply copy the CoMa folder to your hardrive. CoMa must be launched if you want
to receive faxes and voice calls automatically. You may wish to make CoMa launch
on startup which can be set in your System Preferences or in the dock.
Basic adjustments
- In Preferences>General you must select the modem port and if you want
to use CoMa's voice functions select the type of modem.
- If fax jobs should be sent by another computer with a modem (Client
server operation) then the Fax-Job-Folder of the server must be set in Preferences>Fax.
- In Preferences>Images you can select files with your header-graphics
and signatures.
With these settings CoMa is ready to send faxes.
Send fax pages witch are created with other programs:
You can select CoMa in the print-dialogue via the PDF button 'Fax with CoMa'.
Now you must select the recipeint:
- Press F1 to get the main-dialogue and enter the fax-no (or open the Phonebook window
with F5 and double-click the receivers fax #)
- Press the 'Send Fax'-button
Create fax pages with the CoMa-Editor
- Open a new editor-window (⌘N) or load a text
- Press F1 to get the main-dialogue and enter the fax-no (or open the Phonebook window with F5 and double-click the receiver)
- Write or change the text
- Press the Enter-key on the numbers-block
- Select header-graphic and signature in the graphic-window
- Press the Enter-key on the numbers-block twice
Create a Fax-Job (to send later or to send with a Fax-Server)
- Create a graphic-page
- Press J-key or the button 'Make Job'
- Enter time, name and number
The check-box 'Send jobs' in the main-dialogue must be active.
If the Fax-Job should be send with a fax-server, so this fax-jobs-folder of the server must be select in Preferences/Fax
Create Serial-Fax-Jobs
- Create fax-page. If You create the fax with the internal editor, leave the editor-window open, so the placeholders can be replaced.
- Open numbers-window (F5)
- Mark all receivers (perhaps filter with groups)
- Select menu-entry 'Make Serial Jobs'
- You can change the send-time in the jobs-dialogue (for all receivers)
The check-box 'Send jobs' in the main-dialogue must be active.
If the Fax-Job should be send with a fax-server, so this fax-jobs-folder of the server must be select in Preferences/Fax
Receive Faxes
- If CoMa is running and 'Automatic Receive' in main-dialogue is active, You can see the incoming fax while receiving.
- If 'Automatic Receive' in main-dialogue is not active, You can select the button 'Receive', if a call comes in.
Poll Fax
- Enter fax-number in main-dialogue or select a number from the Phonebook window
- Press button 'Poll Fax'
Dial Number for telephone call
You can use CoMa as an automatic dialer if a phone is attatched directly to the
modem.
- Double-click the Voice number in the Phonebook window or enter the Number directly in the main dialogue box and click ' Dial Voice' .
- If you hear the dial-tone, press the ESC-Key, in order to switch the line to the telephone
Answering-machine
- Change Connection-Type in Preferences>General to 'Voice'
- Open message-window
- Double-click 'Example-Greeting.aiff'
- Click record-button (Mic/Speaker)
- Record new message
- Save this file
- Activate 'Automatic Receive' in main dialogue
Voice-Jobs
- Open Fax and Voice Job window
- Click 'New '
- Enter time, name and telephone number
- Select existing AIFF file or record new voice-message
The checkbox 'Send Fax- & Voice-Jobs' in the main dialogue box must be checked.
