General:

Here you adjust the modem-port and, if you want to use voice-functions, the modem-type. If your voice modem is not listed in the Popup menu try the setting 'IS-101-Command-Set' or 'Rockwell Command-Set'.
If for some reason you have a Voice-capable modem which refuses to work with any of the settings please contact me.

If your modem doesn´t transmit the caller-ID , there is no need for set different called-IDs
If CoMa should not respond to caller-ID(MSN), simply set to 99 rings.

When the connecting kind is set to 'Voice' CoMa first plays a greeting message, otherwise immediately handles the call as a fax reception.

Job-Folder:
You need to change this folder only if you use several CoMa programs in the Client-Server operation. On the server with modem CoMa runs and examines all x seconds whether new jobs are present and dispatches these, if the transmitting time is reached. In addition on the server 'Send Fax- & Voice-Jobs' in the main dialogue box must be activated.

On the Client computers without modem, the 'Job-Folder' must be set to Job-Folder of the server. As many as desired Clients can create jobs.

The modem protocol settings are necessary only if everything else doesn´t work. Communication with the modem is then logged. If you e-mail this file, which is in the folder '/CoMa/System/', I can probably help debug this for you.

Voice:

With 'silence detection' you can set how many seconds of silence must pass before the recording is stopped. If the time is too short, slow callers might be disconnected. You might have to test the appropriate setting for your particular phone-line and modem combination.

Redirect voice-messages:
Here you enter the default phone number or e-mail-address to which the messages should be transferred and activate the redirection function in general. You can activate the redirection in the Messages-window for individual caller IDs, situations and you can specify another phone number or e-mail-address.
Remote Control:
If you activate 'Announce Record-Time' , the total number of messages and their reception times is announced via remote control.

Fax:

You should change the maximum speed only if you experience any problems. Some older fax modems support only 9600 bps. With bad long distance connections it may be necessary to reduce the fax speed.

The sender identification is transferred with each fax. In the unregistered version of CoMa this number cannot be changed.

With standard zoom you set the size at which a fax page is first displayed.
With 'Default Resolution' you set the quality for all faxes. This setting can be changed temporarily before sending a fax.

All received faxes can be stored immediately as a PDF file in order to edit the file with other programs.
Redirect faxes as E-Mail:
Here you enter the default e-mail-address to which the received faxes as PDF should be send via Apple Mail.
The E-Mail can be also send, dependently on time, situation, caller or called number, to different addresses. Set the addresses in the Fax- and Voice-On-Demand list. Faxes are forwarded only, if the forwarding is also activated there.
Send at Poll Request:
If you want to make fax pages available to the caller, if you have no voice-modem or the caller is unable to send DTMF tones, you can set a folder with fax pages, which is sent immediately, if the modem detects a fax polling tone (does not work with all fax modems)

Prefix:

Here you can adjust via which phone-company CoMa is dialing.
The selection of the phone-company depends on the distance zone and on the time. For a distance zone you can adjust up to 16 different local or country preselections and 8 periods.

Expert:

You should only make changes in this section if you know exactly what you are doing.
Location of Data-folder "CoMa"
Normally all CoMa data are stored in the folder ~/Dokumente/CoMa/, so that no attitude must be made. But you also can change the location.
The change is only effective with the next start of CoMa.

Number of bell signals
Normally the S1-Register is asked for the number of rings already taken place. Some modems make muck with the inquiry however. Therefore the ' RING's are counted.

Modem instructions change
Some modems may need an additional initialization instruction. This can be set for the different connecting kinds.
Also after going on-hook the modem can be set to a certain condition.

Menu 'Window'

Save Window Positions

This function saves the visibility, window size and window position of all windows. Mac programs usually start with the arrangement of windows, with which the programme has quit. CoMa do it a different way. Make your work environment as you need it to work. If you execute this function, all windows appears, every time you restart, with the saved position.

Dock Menu

Situations

Messages can be dependent on a situation (e.g. normal, lunch, vacation, etc.).
Here you can set the current situation.
So you can switch several messages e.g. for different MSNs with one click.

Dial Favourites for Voice Call

The submenu includes all entries in the phonebook list, which are attached to the first group.
If a phone is connected to the modem, you can dial your favourites for a phone conversation with one click.
